Quiet Wheat Market Up Friday

Quiet Wheat Market Up Friday

I'm KayDee Gilkey with the Market Line Report for December 2, 2013.

March wheat pushed sharply higher on the session early in the day Friday led by cold weather concerns but the market was down 5 cents from the early highs into the mid-session but still 2 cents higher on the day. From the floor of the CME Group, Jack Scoville shares his observations of Friday's markets.

Scoville: "Grains generally trading higher today. Wheat sales are generally in line with expectations. World prices continue to creep higher. Plus wheat also finding support today from very cold weather that could invade the northern plaines and Canadian Prairies over the weekend and especially into the next week. Temperatures could get well below normal. There is a chance that we could see winter kill in these areas. It is a very quiet day today the train is basically empty coming into the town today."
