Agribusiness Update for Wednesday 11/13/13

Farm bills usually pass every five or six-years - but passing a new farm bill has been a struggle for the past couple of years. U.S. Congressman for Alabama Mike Rogers is part of the farm bill conference committee - and according to the Anniston Star - he wants to get this year's farm bill right - saying it could be the last one that passes for decades.

Elanco announced Monday the purchase of Titanium and Master Guard brands from AgriLabs - well-known cattle vaccine brands - which the company says will complement its growing vaccine portfolio. Elanco says it will continue to deliver these brands in the same manner producers have come to expect - working with AgriLabs to ensure a seamless transition - including support of all 2013 programs and pricing.

The U.S. Meat Export Federation concluded its annual Strategic Planning Conference last week - approving a resolution expressing its support for formalizing discussions on the implications of adopting new production and processing technologies - and including representatives of producers, exporters and technology companies in that process.
