Given America's farmers are on track to produce a record corn crop of nearly 14-billion bushels - and 4.9-billion bushels will be used to produce about 13.8-billion gallons of ethanol - Growth Energy CEO Tom Buis says it's clear the food versus fuel debate can be put to bed. He says our farmers have once again proven we can produce abundant quantities of high quality food, feed, fiber and renewable fuel.

On Friday - U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack announced funding for 424 projects across the nation that will help agricultural producers and rural small businesses use renewable energy technologies in their operations and reduce their energy consumption and costs. Vilsack says the Rural Energy for America Program announcements will provide further assistance for producers and business owners to save energy, promote renewable energy creation and boost the bottom line for their operation.

Syngenta developed Operation Pollinator in an effort to boost bee health. This global initiative to establish pollinator habitats in field borders, hedgerows, filter strips, marginal cropland and Conservation Reserve Program land is critical to bee colonies that have become more fragile as a result of factors like Varroa mites, declining habitat and reduced food supplies.
