Family Wineries of Washington State Summer Tasting

Family Wineries of Washington State Summer Tasting. I'm Greg Martin with today's Fruit Grower Report. If you have a love of wine tasting like I do I have an event you will want to get on your calendar. Deborah Daoust has the details. DAOUST: The Family Wineries of Washington State represent over a hundred of the smaller family run artisanal wineries in the state and their main goal is to create state legislative reform so that it's economically easier for these smaller wineries to be successful. This summer they're doing a wine tasting at Ray's Boathouse in Seattle this Thursday, July 29th in the evening, 5:30 to 9 and it allows the public a chance to try some really wonderful wines from the smaller boutique wineries in the state. Tickets are $45 and will allow tastes from almost 20 different wineries along with appetizers from Ray's Boathouse. Daoust says the group is really there to help these smaller wineries. DAOUST: (It's) actually modeled on the Family Wineries Association in California which really does focus on advocating for the interests of smaller wineries in the state, those that are really run by families and so it's looking at their economic interests.
