**U.S. Representative, and Western Caucus Chair Dan Newhouse released a statement following passage of the “Trust the Science Act”, a bill that directs the Department of the Interior to remove Endangered Species Act protections for the gray wolf.
Newhouse says by all metrics, the gray wolf population has recovered, but instead of pursuing common sense, science-backed approaches to delisting, this Administration continues to weaponize the ESA against private landowners.
The legislation now goes to the Senate.
