You go to the dance, your date doesn't show up until the dance is over. So what are you left with? Professional hockey player turned hunter and angler Corey Scoran tells me about a great looking muley buck that apparently showed up too late. Here's our conversation. Scoresy. Sparky. Speaker2: How are we doing? All right. How are you? Good. Speaker1: Hey, lots of anglers and hunters talk wistfully about the one that got away. But as it relates to your deer hunting season, you had problems, ones that never showed up. Speaker2: Yeah, I did, and then the ones that when season closes, they like to show up. Speaker1: Well, tell me about your experience. You were out looking for deer. Speaker2: Yeah. Well, for the first time in a lot of years, the unit I hunt was open to elk and deer at the same time. So we kind of had our eyes peeled looking for track. We had a fresh skiff of snow. So we were able to see some tracks, and we got on to some elk and seen a few deer track. And, uh, you know, I could hunt both for about two days before deer season closed. And then, uh, you know, we don't see nothing. Don't see nothing besides some track. And lo and behold, the next morning, after deer season closes, we get up and a beautiful buck decides to roam right across in front of us and sidehill us and just stand there and stare at us about 50 yards away and mock us. Hahaha. Speaker1: It never ends. If at first you don't succeed and you guys know the rest.
