From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson with today’s Fruit Grower Report. We told you recently that Walla Walla’s L’Ecole No. 41 Winery was named by Wine & Spirits Magazine as one of the Top 100 wineries in the world for the 17th time.

But they’ve also recently hired a new member of their management team in Ryan Pennington …

PENNINGTON … “I had the privilege of joining L’Ecole as Chief Operating Officer. So, I oversee the business side of the winery. And, just absolutely thrilled to be at L’Ecole and in the heart of Washington wine country and the Walla Walla Valley.”

Pennington says there was a mutual appreciation …

PENNINGTON … “I’ve had the opportunity to work with Marty and have known him well for more than 15 years and just absolutely delighted to be able to join him and the family in managing the winery.”

And the wine business is nothing new for Pennington …

PENNINGTON … “I have been delighted to spend my career in the wine industry and now looking forward to taking L’Ecole to new heights as well.”

Next up on Pennington’s to-do list …

PENNINGTON … “We’re just getting ready to start harvest here. It looks like a terrific vintage, perhaps a little bit light in terms of the crop, but the quality looks fantastic. So, we’re looking forward to getting our 40th harvest underway.”

Tune in tomorrow for more on Ryan Penning and what sounds like a milestone anniversary for L’Ecole No.41 Winery.
