**According to multiple reports, Georgia’s 2023 peach crop has been reduced by as much as 95% after warm winter weather followed by a March freeze, prompting a disaster declaration from the USDA.

Director, Chris Butts tells www.gfb.org, peach growers were hit especially hard by this year’s freeze that effectively negates an entire year of preparation and wipes out all of the investments made.

**The USDA recently opened the financial assistance application process for eligible farmers who experienced discrimination in USDA farm lending programs prior to January 2021.

Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack says, opening the application process is an important step in delivering on our commitment of providing financial assistance to those who faced discrimination in USDA farm lending.

The website includes an English- and Spanish-language applications for download or submit via an e-filing portal.

**The nation's average gas price remained unchanged from a week ago, holding at $3.50 per gallon, according to GasBuddy.

The national average DIESEL price fell 1.3 cents and stands at $3.79 per gallon.
