As we get further into the summer months, in season fertilizer applications play a key role in ensuring the crop continues to get the nutrition that it needs. Helena Agri-Enterprise product specialist Dawn Brunmeier says liquid sources of nutrients support nutrition and yield.

Brunmeier… “Irrigated crops, experience very intense periods of growth. And that yield set depends on supplying the right nutrition during this time. Oftentimes our soils are unable to meet crop nutrient demands, and the crops will outpace what the soil can provide. Applying liquid sources of phosphorus and potassium during an irrigation event provides nutrients that are soluble and readily available for root uptake.”

Helena offers proprietary Nucleus fertilizer brands, which Brunmeier says are excellent sources for highly efficient phosphorous and potassium.

Brunmeier… “The technology that's built into these formulations protects vital nutrients from various soil interactions and antagonisms. Nucleus branded fertilizers or customized blends. They increase nutrient availability by keeping phosphorus and potassium in the soil solution for quick availability and uptake by the crop.”
