In these modern times, data is everything. That’s why Helena Agri-Enterprises has built the Extractor program, a huge database of tissue samples in a variety of crops. AGRIntelligence Information Specialist Tom Bowen says this program gives them insight into nutrient management.

Bowen… “That gives us a tremendous insight into how our nutritional plans are performing throughout the season. So, for example, across the northwest in wheat crops specifically, we're seeing boron deficiencies early on at early vegetative tillering and boot stages, regardless of the soil type. We also see a sizable amount of sulfur deficiencies develop around mid-season. So those are just some of the things to consider as you look at applications moving forward during the season.”

Bowen says it’s incredibly easy to get started with the Extractor program.

Bowen… “Our specialists or our crews in the different retail areas will come out and observe your fields and pull samples to analyze and measure nutrient concentrations at that time and growth stage. But the difference with Helena is that it doesn't stop there. We use Extractor results to give you in-season recommendations that make financial sense for your crop based on its agronomic needs.”
