United Grain Corporation Pt 2

I’m Bob Larson. If the “only constant is change,” you have to “evolve” or you get left behind. That’s the feeling at United Grain Corporation, the Vancouver-based bulk grain exporter.

CEO Augusto Bassanini says to achieve success for everyone, we all need to be aware in order to meet changing demands …

BASSANINI … “We just need to make sure that we continue to collaboratively work together to make sure that we can address those needs. Because if we don’t do that, somebody else in the world is going to be able to meet those needs.”

But, Bassanini believes we are in the right place at the right time, as long as we do it together …

BASSANINI … “Again, I just think that the U.S. is in the best position if we can all collaborate and continue to listen to our customer, but also that we can work collaboratively with our producer base and continue to meet those needs in the future.”

So moving forward, Bassanini says “United for Success” will point us in the right direction …

BASSANINI … “As we position our business in the future from being more of a solution-based organization that we don’t see ourself as just moving wheat from the producer farm to the export gate. I mean, we want to create that value and that service and the service that we’re providing to our producer/customer these days is a lot of conversation in regards to marketing and risk management.”

Bassanini says feeding the world sustainably and safely is about focusing on uniting EVERYONE so that success can be had for all.
