Almonds are a major California crop, and they require bees for pollination. Finding reliable sources for quality pollinators is an important part of the production process.

Bruce Cason has been a beekeeper in Kerman since 1973, but he recently launched a new website to help farmers with beekeepers.

Cason… “It's basically a meeting point is what MyPollination is: a meeting point for growers and beekeepers, to take care of their program.”

Cason’s service not only helps farmers find their initial sources of pollinators, but also helps them to diversify and find the highest quality bees possible.

Cason… “Quality and diversification is paramount for pollination success. You don't put all your money in one investment. So why are you going to put all your eggs in one basket with one beekeeper? If you can pick from a couple of different beekeepers and diversify your program, you're going to be a lot better off.”

The new site is very user friendly for both farmers and beekeepers.

Cason… “Basically and go to MyPollination.com and you can hit one or two options: you're either a beekeeper that wants to connect with growers, or growers trying to connect with beekeepers. And at that platform, you can select the quantity of bees, the quality of bees, and the beekeeper, and MyPollination will come in and take care of the rest.”
