In an Idaho Cattle Association newsletter, Wyatt Prescott wrote that he would be focusing on the state’s sage grouse mitigation framework. Wyatt emphasized that it’s important for us to help shape the framework so that grazing cannot be jeopardized in the name of mitigation. In fact, our vision is to have grazing be enhanced and serve as mitigation.   "We are working with the state of Idaho to help develop that framework. Know differently, out of the president's office in the White House, he sent out a memorandum stating that they want to see mitigation framework on a federal level. That is just to reiterate the importance of the notion that we need localized and state control and input on what that mitigation framework looks like. It would seem to me that if the president of the United States wants mitigation, he might think about adding a few more airplanes to fight wildfires which destroys most sage grouse habitat. Yes you hit the nail on the head. A great example of mitigation is to provide better resources to fight wildfires.”
