Mixed But Quiet on Friday

Mixed But Quiet on Friday. I'm Greg Martin in for KayDee Gilkey with MarketLine. ?Friday was not a real go getter when it came to the grain markets and in fact it was rather quiet according to CME Groups, Frank Lesh.

LESH: We had corn off three or four cents, wheat up a little bit as well a penny or two. On the week corn was unchanged and wheat down about fourteen. Corn just remains range-bound in here. We don't have a lot of activity in corn. Farmers are holding on. There's large stocks of corn out there but we don't see much of that being marketed right now.

Now checking some prices from Friday:

Chicago July Wheat ended up a half at 4-88 and 1/2.

July corn down 4 and 3/4 cents at 3-53 and 1/4.

Portland prices for soft white wheat of ordinary protein were not available.

August delivery of new crop unchanged to down .75 at 5.85 to 5.97 1/2.

White Club wheat of ordinary protein up .50 mostly 5.88 1/2.

Hard Red Winter wheat with 11.5 percent protein prices were up 5 at mostly 5-97 and 1/4.

DNS wheat with 14 percent protein prices were up 3.25 at mostly 7-31.

August live cattle were up a buck 32 1/2 at 150.67 and half.

August Feeder cattle were up $1.50 at 223.42 and half.

July class III milk was up 15 cents at 16-33.

And that's Marketline. I'm Greg Martin on the Ag Information Network of the West.
