There might me trouble for the TPA agreement. Connecticut Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro doesn't believe Trade Promotion Authority will pass. She says there's been a loss of jobs and depression of wages due to prior trade agreements. DeLauro says an overwhelming number of House Democrats would oppose President Obama's request for TPA - and she is encouraging members of both parties to oppose it. DeLauro and others might support replacement trade authority - which she says would let Congress help select appropriate trade partners on matters like environmental and public health standards and market access for U.S. exports.

Thirty-six state FFA officers are gathering on Capitol Hill this week to celebrate National Ag Day. FFA is pleased to play a role in helping others know the importance of agriculture. Goals for National Ag Day are to encourage Americans to understand how food and fiber products are produced; appreciate the role agriculture plays in providing safe, abundant and affordable products; value the role of agriculture in maintaining a strong economy; and encourage people to consider career opportunities in the ag, food and fiber industries.

That's today's Agribusiness Update from the Ag Information Network of the West.
