USPB Chip Grower Committee Meeting to Be Held

January's Potato Expo in San Antonio will be here before you know it. For any chip stock growers attending this industry meeting, it's important you are aware of the United States Potato Board Chip Committee Meeting that happens ahead of the expo.

Manager of the USPB Chip Committee David Fairbourn shares more details about this meeting that will happen on January 8 at the Henry Gonzales Convention Center in San Antonio the day before the Potato Expo.

Fairbourn: "This is a meeting of the Chip Committee of course, which is about 10 chip growers but is open to all growers who are interested in chip stock. At this meeting David Parish, the Chip Program Manager, he gives updates about the National Chip Processing Trials as well as the USPB SFA -- that's the Snack Food Association-- trials. Trials about the seed that will be fast tracked -- the new varieties that are available to the industry and how we will be delivering those to the industry to improve the quality of the chipping potatoes and increasing the marketing abilities of the chip program. We also discuss emerging diseases and issues of quality that is pertinent to all in the chip stock industry."
