Honoring Farm Moms

Honoring Farm Moms

Betty Rosson, a grain and cattle farmer fromVirginia, was recently chosen as Monsanto’s National “Farmers Mom of the Year” for 2013. Betty was the regional winner for the Southeast earlier this year, and then the first of this month online voting was conducted, during which time anyone could visit AmericasFarmers.com, read regional winners' nominations and cast a vote for one to receive the national title. Receiving the most online votes, Betty was notified of her national win on Mother's Day, and how appropriate since, while anyone can nominate a woman as an outstanding farm mom, she was nominated by her son, which is truly the greatest honor here. Betty and her husband have raised five boys on their fifth generation Virginia farm, and Betty says that for the most part it has been a blessing for the family to be on the farm. Congratulations to Betty on receiving national recognition for her love and dedication to family and farm, and congratulations to all the farm moms who on a daily basis give completely of themselves to their family, their farm, and their community.
