11/03/05 Rossi & Stallman at Farm Bureau Mtg

Washington Ag November 3, 2005 The 86th annual meeting of the Washington Farm Bureau is set for November 14th through the 17th at the Yakima Convention Center. Farm Bureau spokesman Dean Boyer talks about two major keynote speakers. Boyer: "Well we are very pleased number one, that we will have Bob Stallman as a speaker. Mr. Stallman is president of the American Farm Bureau Federation, which is the largest general ag organization in the world. We also have Dino Rossi as a speaker and as your listeners will remember Dino was a candidate for governor last year, lost in a very close race to Christine Gregoire and he will be speaking on Tuesday, November 15th." There will be workshops on farm safety, international trade and keeping agriculture productive and profitable. Delegates will also adopt policies to guide Washington Farm Bureau's efforts in 2006. Something new this year is the Farm Bureau Market. Boyer: "Where we will have some of our Farm Bureau members, our producers, exhibiting their value added products like cheeses, jams and jellies and other things that are made on the farm for retail sale." Registration for Farm Bureau members is just $48. For more info call 800-331-3276. I'm Bob Hoff.
