How to hunt antelope, where do hunt antelope, let’s talk antelope.

Rex Peterson is a guy who says all he wants to do in life is hunt, fish and then go hunting. He has a passion that he shares with his dad for antelope. I had a conversation about his strategy. Some guys sit in a blind by a waterhole but not Rex. Here are some of his trade secrets. “What is it about Wyoming that attracts antelope hunters? The sheer number of antelope there is just crazy. Everywhere you look there are antelope. I have never seen anything like it as far as game animals they are everywhere. How do you specifically hunt them? Spot and stock. Find a high point, get out the spotting scope, find the animal you want to go after and then use the contour of the land to help you get there. You need to stock within range and get a good shot off. Let’s say you’re 1000 yards away and you get a look at an animal you want to take. They are edgy and quick. How do you track them down? You have to use the draws to your advantage and the wind to your advantage as well. Get out of their eyesight and get as close as you can without being seen. Hopefully when you do pop up you can get a shot. I bet you spend a lot of time on your belly. Yes I do.
