It’s Friday and on OpenRange Wrap up,  I bet  I get your dander up when you hear that one of our most vocal anti meat activist is giving a lecture in ranch country.  What’s Up with that! I’m Susan Allen stay tuned. Hum, last week we announced that fifteen million dollars was awarded to Washington State University from the US  Department of Ag for crop research, there is a video on aginfo.net that explains what crops will benefit and how this is fabulous not only  for WSU’s  Ag department but northwest  farmers. So now why insult  them? That’s right. WSU’s department of undergraduate education is slapping our  regions cattle producers in the  face by hosting one the nation’s most vocal anti-meat activists Michael Pollen next Wednesday on campus.  Given this man’s triads against  meat, Republicans, the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, the National Restaurant Association and even Ronald Reagan he should be on a slow boat to Taiwan (where thanks to his fear mongering about  mad cow they ban  US beef products ) But no, only in America would Mr.  Pollan author  of the Omnivores Dilemma be invited to spew his agenda to impressive young minds  on a  University with a rich heritage in  the cattle Industry. The  event is January 13 at 7:00  in Beasley Coliseum with a  Q and A Session at 3:00-4:00 for students only , imagine that! surprised? Angry? Ranching alumni should  call the office of Undergraduate education at WSU right now to voice your beef. I’m Susan Allen
