Colorado is Hemp country or soon will be if interest in production is indicative of the future.

The Colorado Department of Agriculture is asking for patience from producers. It’s website says it is work to process an unprecedented number of requests and applications through the CDA Industrial Hemp Program. More information is coming soon!

The 2018 Farm Bill removed Hemp from the Controlled Substances Act. The USDA’s Risk Management Agency is also scrambling to figure out the best way to insure it. The RMA’s Administrator Martin Barbre

The Colorado Department of Agriculture Industrial Hemp Program has been hosting a stakeholder process to collaborate with stakeholders regarding the upcoming October rulemaking hearing regarding the use of reclaimed water to irrigate hemp and edible crops. The stakeholder process began last October. The eleventh and final meeting is Tuesday the 21st at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment Laboratory Services Division in Denver.

In October 2019, the commission will hold a rulemaking hearing to address the information developed through our stakeholder process.
