**Impeachment OR USMCA? That’s the question as House Democrats plunge headlong into an impeachment investigation following the President’s recent dealings with Ukraine.
The Farm Journal’s Jim Wiesemeyer says his sources are split with some believing Speaker Pelosi will show the House can still govern and bring USMCA to a vote, while others say Democrats should not give the President something he wants.
Iowa Republican Senator Chuck Grassley feels the impeachment inquiry will NOT derail the USMCA, but says if it does, it would prove Democrats are more interested in politics than serving the American people.

**New attention to reducing food waste represents an encouraging sign, but a new study shows tackling the issue will involve complex solutions.
A University of California, Davis researcher, who led the study says large, systemic factors on farms, at grocery stores and restaurants, and in-home kitchens all contribute.
The study indicates a need to focus on cultural and social factors rather than only on actions by individuals.
**U.S. hog futures soared to a two-month high Monday on technical buying and the potential to sell more pork to China.
According to agweb.com, December lean hog futures jumped 2.75 cents to 72.6 cents per pound.
Not only did the contract reach its highest price since July 31st, it has increased 25% since hitting a one-year low on September 10th.
