On today's Land and Livestock Report. Fascinating New Ear Tag technology for cattle. I'm Susan Allen. We caught up with Chief Technology Officer for Fort Supply Technology, Nephi Harvey at the recent Livestock Marketing Association meetings in Billings.

HARVEY: We have a software and hardware product that utilizes long range UHF tag technology to be able to identify animals in a feedlot one to two days before a good pen Rider can identify that they are becoming ill, and alert the pen rider to their status so that t the pen rider can walk into the pen and locate those animals that are not feeling well and treat them early.Either without the use of antibiotics and possibly preventing their death and increasing the bottom to the feedlot operation simply by monitoring how long they have been in the water with our proprietary software.

The feed lot is only one application for this exciting new technology. Tomorrow Nephi will explain how producers can these ear tags when transporting cattle from state to state and on the ranch. Precision agriculture it isn't just for crops the livestock industry innovations continue to amaze!
