The new rules regarding the requirement for veterinarians to prescribe antibiotics for use with livestock have created some challenges which integration manager for Micro Technologies, Jill Wagner says can be overcome. "Everybody in America is concerned about antibiotics in their food. Yes. So this is a step up in transparency. That is correct and that goes back to the two-year storage requirement that over time, the FDA can audit the feed mill, the producer or the veterinarian, to come to them and say, what did you give this group of animals? Any one of those parties should be able to retrieve any veterinary feed directives written through GlobalVetLink within our service. For the feed mills through GlobalVetLink they can store even non-GlobalVetLink veterinary feed directives. That is to say of a veterinarian writes a paper certificate they can still upload that into GlobalVetLink and retrieved that is part of the two-year storage requirement. That's for feed mills. So, GlobalVetLink offers a software package that allows total and complete and comprehensive tracking of this whole process. Yes, that is part of it, the other part is that we offer a great way to enable compliance."
