**Trying to capitalize on the hottest media topic of the day, PETA plans to run billboards near the U.S.-Mexico border comparing the separation of immigrant families to milking dairy cows.

The animal rights group plans to build a billboard near several cities with an image of a Holstein cow and calf next to the slogan "Loving Mothers and Their Children Should Never Be Separated. Please Go Vegan."

According to agweb.com, PETA claims taking a calf from a dairy cow to produce milk is the same as separating families.

**Renewable Fuels Association CEO Bob Dinneen is not happy about EPA's latest Renewable Fuel Standard proposal.

The problems began when Administrator Scott Pruitt gave small refinery RFS exemptions resulting in over 2.5-billion gallons of demand loss.

Dinneen tells agrimarketing.com, he's especially mad after an announcement was delayed to change language in the proposal "that would have, at least for future small refinery waivers, created a more transparent process."

**An FDA meeting this week should offer clarity in the debate over who should regulate the fast-growing lab-grown meat industry.

FDA has signaled it believes it has the statutory authority to regulate the new products, which could be on the market by the end of the year.

However, Agri-Pulse reports, Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue has indicated that USDA should have jurisdiction because meat and poultry has always been the USDA's territory and lab-grown meat should come under the same inspection criteria.
