This is the Agribusiness Update...I'm Greg Martin...

Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Gina McCarthy feels her efforts to meet with farmers and ranchers and policymakers on the proposed Waters of the U.S. rule has been worth it. Agriculture believes the proposal means EPA wants to regulate all ditches - and the American Farm Bureau Federation has been calling on EPA to ditch the rule. This campaign has been met by a defensive campaign from EPA - calling for critics to ditch the myths about the rule. McCarthy even called some of the concerns are ludicrous and silly.

USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service has released the 2012 Census of Agriculture Congressional District Profiles for the 113th Congress. NASS Administrator Joseph T. Reilly says these profiles paint a picture of agriculture at the local level by providing data on farms and ranches and the people who operate them in each district. Reilly says this information serves as a timely data tool to help congressional leaders assess ag and rural community issues in their area as they head home for summer recess.

That's today's Agribusiness Update from the Ag Information Network.
