This is the Agribusiness Update...I'm Greg Martin...

The northwest apple crop was a big one again this year. According to the Washington Apple Commission this years crop was the second largest crop on record and is expected to be right around 113-million cartons. Golden, Red Delicious and Fuji apples were down from last year with a surprising boost in Granny Smith apples.

President Obama officially pardoned the National Thanksgiving Turkey in a ceremony on the North Portico yesterday.  The President celebrated the 66th anniversary of the National Thanksgiving Turkey presentation by reflecting upon the time-honored traditions of Thanksgiving, and wished American families a warm, safe, and healthy holiday.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is getting ready to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Endangered Species Act, enacted in December of 1973.  NOAA says the ESA has been critical for protecting threatened and endangered species for future generations and continues to push and grow our science, understanding and stewardship practices.
