Agribusiness Update for Wednesday 6/19/13

This is the Agribusiness Update...I’m Greg Martin...

The American Motorcycle Association organized a rally against the use of E15 and it has industry leaders shaking their heads. One ethanol official said they might as well protest windshield washer fluid, bubblegum, or any other product found at a gas station that’s not meant to go to in a motorcycle tank and called the whole thing “absurd.”

According to a schedule released by House Majority Leader Eric Cantor - the U.S. House will not hold any votes on Friday this week. The last vote is slated for three o’clock Eastern Thursday afternoon. No farm bill votes were taken Monday - as the House Rules Committee had not yet set the rule on the farm bill.

And on a related issue, the National Milk Producers Federation has come out against efforts in the House to gut the farm bill’s dairy title through an amendment offered by Reps. Goodlatte and Scott saying it would undo four years of hard work to develop a new, cost-effective safety net for America’s dairy farmers.

That’s today’s Agribusiness Update from the Ag Information Network.
