USDA’s FSIS announced last week if will conduct sampling and testing on imported raw ground-beef and veal to confirm shipments don’t contain horse meat. FSIS does not allow imports of horse meat from other countries to the U.S. for human consumption.

The Probable Maximum Precipitation and Climate Change study led by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration was recently published. It shows extra moisture from a warmer atmosphere due to increasing greenhouse gases dominates every other factor and makes extreme precipitation events more intense. In layman’s terms...we could see a lot more rain.

The Washington Dept. of Health is warning of a major frozen food recall linked to E. coli contamination. Farm Rich, Market Day, and Schwan’s brand frozen foods have been recalled due to possible contamination. If you have any of those frozen food brands in your freezer check out the Health Department’s website for details.

That’s today’s Agribusiness Update from the Ag Information Network.
