The public lands of New Mexico are heaven for thrillseeking outdoorsman but there might be a political angle according to editor-in-chief of Field& Stream, Colin Kearns. We try not to take political stances, we just let the stories speak for itself. We sent one of our writers on a quail hunt along the Mexico, New Mexico border. it is beautiful country, all public land and they hunted for Mearns quail. They were hunting just exactly where if a wall were to be built, they would have seen it. From a conservation standpoint, that would not be good for the wildlife in that area. Furthermore, it is very rugged terrain so it would be virtually impossible to build a wall. The hunting was fabulous and it would be a shame to disrupt the wildlife in such a way.
