I'm repeating a theme that I believe to be a must if you love hunting waterfowl. Think of duck hunting and what comes to mind? The Dakotas? The Midwest? A lot of places in the lower 48. One place that I have to confess to be a little surprised by is Kodiak, Alaska. Get on the Ducks Unlimited email list and you will receive, absolutely free of charge, some of the most beautiful films you will ever see. Here are some clips from a duck hunt in Kodiak. "Living in the city you have everything at arms reach. To be able to come out here and get away is a great break and to understand what it's like to be super remote brings you back to reality. It's very humbling. One of the things that I love to do is taking people to do their very first things. With Alaska and all of its beauty, it is just so majestic. Bringing in guys who have never been to Alaska, it's just awesome to watch the look on their face. We are out here on Kodiak Island getting ready to go out. It's about 8:45, the sun is just coming up so we are very excited. Three of our party went out deer hunting and we have five of us going out duck hunting and will see how we do. Everybody duck hunts a little different. It's sure different than we do it at home. The sun rises until 9:30. We get dropped off with a few decoys and sit on a beach. We get tucked in and there is no calling. We just sit and wait in these ducts come out of nowhere. They fly fast and they are on you before you can do anything."
