Hills to Die On

I was reading the February/March issue of Field and Stream magazine and saw this incredible picture. Looking skyward from a tree-lined hill you see a pretty good size helicopter with a long cable extending from its belly and at the bottom of the cable there is a spike bull elk dangling in the air. At face value, you have to say to yourself what in the world? But rather than sit around slack-jawed and questioning, I turned to the editor-in-chief of Field and Stream, Colin Kearns and asked for the real skinny. Hills to Die On Durfee Hills' hunting grounds in Central Montana are not easy to access, but once you're there, you'll enjoy some of the greatest public-land elk hunting in the country.
