I called up good friend and avid hunter Scotty Cyr and asked him if he had a good story for me. "I skipped the arrow off his backAnd he didn't go but 10 or 15 yards. I missed the first one, it was 50 yards. It was dead on in a field. I was so excited, put in the 50 yard pin, zipped one right off the top of his back, and I was thinking what went wrong? Then I thought to myself, duh, it's a down hill shot. So the arrow is not traveling 50 yards on the horizontal, because gravity only acts on the horizontal. The arrow skipped off his back, stuck in a tree behind him, he turned and looked at the arrow then he took a couple of leaps, then he stopped and he's looking around because there were a couple of cows up the hill next to me, then I was able to knock another arrow and at this point it was game over. It was over in 10 seconds. He was quartered towards me and I double lunged. after I quartered him up and took the first quarter down the hill, I took a picture of his hooves, sent them to a couple of friends and said if you want to see the rest, come help me pack him out tomorrow.
