Josh Mills wants to tell us about an exciting upcoming event. Coming up on May 19 there is a tremendous benefit for the Spokane River. It is called the Water to Wine auction put on by the Spokane River Forum. They are an advocacy group that brings in a lot of users of the tremendous public resource that we have in the Spokane River. It helps fund raise as well as advocate for different ways to help improve the river. They are trying to raise funds eventually to put in a new access site at Glover field which is right in the midst of downtown, so you can launch your drift boat or raft and enjoy the lower Spokane River which is a tremendous fishery by itself. The problem we have is that access is tough because there are not enough launches or takeouts. I am of the belief that the more people who use the resource creates more advocacy. So the Water to Wine auction will be at the Château Rive which is at the Flour Mill in downtown Spokane, Friday, May 19 and it starts at 5:30 PM with lots of giveaways.
