Spring Fishing

As many of you may have noticed, I took a little hiatus from Sportsmen's Spotlight and Tommy Allen and Matt Rice took over because of their great love of the outdoors. They did a terrific job while I was away but now that I am back one of the people that I wanted to touch base with was extremely entertaining, articulate, accommodating Sales Associate at Sportsmen's Warehouse Keith McDowell who knows all things fishing. I called them up and asked what was happening."The tough thing right now David is the weather. We just broke a record here in Washington, we've got the most rain in recorded history this year. I think they said it was 122 years of recorded weather and we finally broke that. The good thing is that the low land lakes went off without a hitch. Maybe a few less people out there competing for them this year but we had a good low land lakes opener. Lately I have been crappy fishing. I actually went and bought a brand-new crappy boat. Crappie are moving in, most of the lakes around here are starting to warm up, they're moving into the shallows and should be in there spawning here in Washington at least Western Washington, probably within the next three or four weeks."

I sure hope Keith gets an employee discount. It seems like every time I talk to him, he has bought yet another fishing boat.
