I got on the horn with Bob Schmidt, owner of Mack's Lure Inc. which is a great little fishing shop in Wenatchee, WA, and had a great chat about wedding rings and blades. We've been around since 1969 and we are probably better known for some of its brand names than the manufacturers names themselves but the wedding ring spinner is extremely well known west of the Rockies and then across the country, all of the walleye country. The smile blade is another one of our brand names that is extremely well-known. Why don't you describe them. The wedding ring is a series of spinners originally designed for trolling, we do have a casting model as well now and their name was derived from a bead that has several crystals that go around in a band. He introduced that when we opened the company back in 1969. The smile blade is a more recent patented invention of ours that is actually a mylar plastic blade that turns at speeds much much slower than you can get action out of a metal blade. It is also tunable and is used in a variety of applications from attraction as a spinner blade on a lure to just being used by itself without a lure for attraction.
