Jim Teeny, world-known fly fisherman or family man?
When the subject of Jim Teeny comes up, typically we think of his famous flies, fly lines, fly rods, and fly fishing accessories. But another thing that has him hooked is family as he gathers them up and takes them to Alaska. “This is a big family outing because all of our family likes to fish. I don’t want to just push it down, we are going June 27th to 5th of July we come home. We are going to be fly fishing for salmon and trout but we are also going to be going after razor clams and we will be doing some photography. We also want to go to some of the glaciers and go out one day in the ocean. Donna and I have talked about this and we want to make this the most rounded great experience for our grandkids that we can do. Give me your perspective on outdoors and children. I remember when my father, I mean I got my first salmon, my first steelhead, my first pheasant, my first chucker, my first dear, all of those firsts with your dad. It doesn’t have to be your dad it could be your mom, you know about saying? It’s your family and family is number one with us. We just love them so much appreciate it and I feel very blessed that when I was 12 years old I got tying flies, when I was 16, a junior in high school, that’s when I originally tied up the Teeny Nymph Fly and I feel extremely lucky and fortunate that that is how it has worked for me.
