One of the biggest names in fly fishing is Jim Teeny and he and his wife Donna are very involved with women and breast cancer.

Donna Teeny, wife of flyfishing legend Jim Teeny got involved with an organization called Casting for Recovery which provides fly fishing getaways for women recovering from breast cancer. “We got involved with Casting for Recovery, it  hit home to me because our daughter has had cancer twice, not breast cancer, but it is a horrible disease and we wanted to be able to give back to our sport also supporting Casting for Recovery. So when Rick Pope who is the owner of Temple Fork Outfitters was here staying with us during a sports show and they make fly rods, I suggested to him that they make a fly rod, having it purple with a pink ribbon on it, and donate a percentage of that sale back to Casting for Recovery. It has been a hugely successful project. I told Jimmy now that we have the rod we need to come out with a fly line with backing and a rod tube also to be able to support Casting for Recovery and make it a whole package and give back our percentage also to Casting for Recovery. It has been very successful. When we would display at sports shows you would have guys come up and women come up, my mom, my sister, my aunt, my best friend, whoever is going through this so it was an instantly successful and supported project.
