5-9 SS Chuckar Sandwich

5-9 SS Chuckar Sandwich

Everybody this is sportsman’s spotlight I’m David Sparks and coming up next man who loves chuckar. Last week we talked to Christopher Claunch  and he told us how much he loved chucker hunting. There are lots of reasons for that. “It is absolutely the most rewarding hunting I have ever done. They are a great tasting food. I have a niece who says that my chopper sandwiches are the most delicious thing she has ever eaten. When you make a chopper sandwich, first of all you want them to be fresh, you are going to breast out the bird because all of the other meat is very muscley and not very valuable for something like a sandwich. Then you take what the chuckar eats which is Sage and cheat grass and you are going to complement those flavors by using earthy herbs and spices and also vegetables to bring out the flavor in the chuckar. This is not good for you and I would like to make a disclaimer that if anybody has a heart attack after eating that, I warned you. You take a bunch of garlic butter and schlop it’s on both of the buns and you throw those on the cool part of the grill and start toasting those and you grill your chucker with Sage, and it can be powdered sage or it can be fresh sage but you grill that with a little bit of all of oil and then take some sage butter along with salt and pepper and then you sauté with mushrooms and asparagus. Put a few red pepper flakes in their to give that the kick that you love and then you melt a piece of pepper jack cheese over it. Add lettuce and tomato, stack it up high and there you go with chips or French fries if you’re at home or just chips if you’re out around the campfire. I will tell you what. It will change your life.
