 Cooking chukar the right way. I’m David Sparks and Sportsmens’ Spotlight is next.  I’m David Sparks and if you’re not hungry now you will be by the end of this segment. I’ll never forget a bird hunting trip I made to Pierre, North Dakota where it’s all wild birds…and cold. Our guide had us in goose pits when it was 25 below zero (that was before global warming I guess). On the same trip, we hunted pheasant and chuckars. Let me tell you the trip was a success and each night we would feast on the birds we harvested. The geese were good, the pheasant were fabulous but the chuckar was champion to my palate. Well Boise resident and expert Idaho chuckar hunter John Ryan has produced an excellent Chuckar hunting video called Fistful of chuckars. What he doesn’t tell you in the video is how to cook them…so here he is.
