U.S. Meat Export Federation Hosts Latin American Product Show

Last week beef representatives from the attend the United States Meat Export Federation’s Latin American Product Show case in Costa Rica which was the biggest event ever with and 44 U.S. companies exhibited their beef and pork products to the approximately 100 buyers from 16 different counties.
Oregon Beef Council Executive Director Will Wise was in attendance and I visited with him during the show and he shares
Wise: ‘My impression is USMEF — am not kidding you — they do an excellent job. They get the right people. There are a couple hundred people here; very very high quality contacts. there was also an informational session this morning on what the markets are doing for beef and pork. So there is a little bit of academic side if you will. There was a bit on logistics like cryovac and cold storage —- all things that relate to supply chain that enhances our exports. So there are really two or three elements a really good effort by USMEF really top quality people attend this thing. i like that academic component. Now it is more of a trade show today — but having them go through that - -they are pretty enthusiastic today.”
