National FFA Convention

Last week more than 60,000 blue jacketed high school students were in Indianapolis for the 89th Annual National FFA Convention. Representatives from every state competed on the national stage. Central Washington's Prosser Chapter received third in the nation for their Novice Parliamentary Procedure Knowledge Team.

President and team member Tessa Taylor shares more

Taylor: "I decided that I was going to do novice parliamentary procedure and so I'm on a team with six different team. Basically we do parliamentary procedure with official opening and closing ceremonies. We started with sub-districts then districts, then we went on to sub-state and state and we won first place throughout all of the competitions. So when we won first place at state we know we were going to National Convention."

I asked what are the team's plans are for next year

Taylor: "Our whole team has talked about this but we are thinking about staying together and do parli pro together. I feel like as a team we work together really well."

Congrats to all the winners that represent our region in the many different national contests.
