Beef Industry Intern Application Open Now

Attention college graduate-level, seniors and juniors — there is an exciting intern opportunity with the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association and the Public Lands Council available for spring 2016. NCBA Executive Director of Legislative Affairs, Kristina Butts, says this is a great opportunity for students with an interest in the beef industry and public policy.
Butts: “It is a really great internship experience. The individual will get to work with our lobbying team and they will work with our regulatory team. So our staff that works with different agencies like the Department of Agriculture, the Food and Drug Administration, the Environmental Protection Agency. Also gets to work with our individual producers. Our members of NCBA and helping us to deliver on their priorities here in Washington.”
She shares more application details and the deadline.
Butts: “So anyone interested should go to NCBA’s website — that’s beefusa.org. We actually have a tab under the About Us page and it will be on our home page as well. The application is pretty straight forward.They just need to have the application submitted by October the first. That is the deadline for the spring 2016 internship. They will also need to include some type of a transcript or way for us to verify their GPA as there is a GPA requirement. We’re also looking for letters of recommendations — these letters can be professors,teachers, neighbors, people who are involved in the industry, people they have worked for in the past — whether a part-time job or a previous internship.”
The full-time paid internship begins January 11, 2016 and ends May 13th.
