Picchetti: “There are ten categories across in which we are looking for leaders — some of those are youth leadership, rural policy influence, mentorship and volunteerism. From the 100 people selected and announced next March in conjunction with Ag Day. One from each of those 10 categories will receive special recognition. The top 10 selected — one from each category — will be invited to participate in a special event in Washington, D.C. next June. In addition those 10 outstanding individuals will receive a$10,000 award to help them further their contribution to rural communities.”

Picchetti: “The types of individuals we are looking for are those who are influencing the future of ag and rural communities for the better. We know that a thriving America is contingent on a thriving rural America and we want to honor the people who make that possible. By honoring these 100 individuals we hope to expand their reach and their positive influence in rural America. The nomination period will close on December 18, 2015.
