The Colorado Department of Agriculture and the Colorado Energy Office are accepting applications for agricultural energy efficiency and renewable energy projects.

Michael Turner at the CEO explains what the program seeks to do:

"There are a few barriers for producers in terms of implementing energy management practices. One is the up front costs, the other is the availability of technical information."

The total amount available for assistance in FY 2018 is $350,000. The funding is available to Colorado agricultural irrigators, dairies, greenhouses, nurseries, and cold storage facilities.

Applications are available online at www.colorado.gov/energyoffice/agricultural-energy-efficiency and atwww.colorado.gov/agconservation/acre.

Applications must be received by the Colorado Department of Agriculture before 4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 15, 2017.
