This is Bob Larson with the Market Line Report for Thursday, December 21st. A mixed bag in grain trading on Wednesday. From the floor of the CME in Chicago, here's Virginia McGathey ...

Virginia McGathey ... "Wheat was higher today. You know, the freezing temperatures across the growing wheat belt really have a lot of the traders worried. And, what's happened is is without that snow cover it really leaves that winter wheat that's in the ground very vulnerable to some crop damage. And, so with these freezing temperatures, there is some difficulty there or some vulnerability that there's something that might happen and of course we're a little ahead of the game here, but it did firm up the market, thank goodness. Some of the spillover buying helped in the corn as well and that shored up that market so the feed grains which are corn and wheat were kind of firm today so they looked very well."
