This is Matt Rice with the Market Line Report for March 27th. The Cattle Market steadily climbing as the prices held strong over the week. Here's Greg Sanders with more on the weekly cattle update with the USDA.

Sanders "Thursday trading in Nebraska was slow on light to moderate demand for the National Slaughter Cattle Review. A few live and dress purchases traded at $1.34 ½ in 215 for both 1 to 14 and 15-30 day delivery. In Kansas trading was inactive on very light demand, very few live purchases were at $1.26 for a 15-30 day delivery. In the Western Corn Belt, trading was limited on a light demand. In the Texas Panhandle, and Colorado trading was at a standstill."

Chicago markets, Sept. wheat prices closed the day up 3 ½, at 455. Chicago Sept. Corn prices were dn ½, to finish the week at 370 ¾. Prices in Portland for Soft White Winter Wheat of ordinary protein for Aug. NC we up 3 ½ - unch, ranging from 4-54 ½ to 4-73. Hard Red Winter Wheat with 11.5 % protein, future prices for Aug. NC were up ½, ranging from 5-16 to 5-31. DNS Wheat with 14 % protein, prices for Aug. NC were dn 4 ¾, ranging from 6-76 ¾ to 6-68 ¾. Aug. Live Cattle finished the week dn 10 cents, at 107.72 ½. May Feeder cattle were dn 22 ½ cents, at 133.87 ½. May class III milk was dn 11 cents at 15-30.
