McGathey “Here to talk to you about the grains, reporting on the grains, everything higher. This weeks USDA report, coming at the end of the week here has lifted all the grains. It started out a little bit slow and actually lower all across the board but then ended up higher. Soybeans closed up 6 week, wheat closed up 6 ½, corn closed up about 3 ¾, so everything looks strong.”
Let’s start with the Chicago markets, July wheat prices closed the day up 6 ½ at 454 ½. Chicago July Corn prices were up 5, to finish the day at 383 ¼. Prices in Portland for Soft White Winter Wheat of ordinary protein for Aug. NC were up 2 ¼ to 2 ¾, ranging from 4-66 to 4-68 ¾. Hard Red Winter Wheat with 11.5 % protein, future prices for May were up 3 ¾, ranging from 5-32 ½ to 5-37 ½. DNS Wheat with 14 % protein, prices for May were up 1 ¼, ranging from 6-85 ¼ to 6-95 ¼. June Live Cattle finished the day up 75 cents, at 106.40. April Feeder cattle were up $1.05, at 124.45. March class III milk was dn 10 cents at 16-82.
