Lower Still Prices for Wheat

Lower Still Prices for Wheat

I’m KayDee Gilkey with the Market Line Report for September 15, 2014.
No good news Friday for the wheat market as it continues it downward trend. With last week’s northwest cattle market, here is USDA Grain and Livestock Reporter Greg Sanders.
Sanders: “Direct Northwest market cattle this week we had 200 head reported. Compared to last week not enough feeder steers or heifers this week for accurate trends. Trade was slow as most interests are doing business this week on vedieo sales and the local sales barns. Feeder steers for current delivery 850 lbs brought $208. Feeder heifers for the calves 500 to 550 lbs for October-November delivery brought $221.”
Chicago December Wheat ended Friday down 7 cents at 5-02 and 1/2. December corn ended the day down 2 and 1/2 cents at 3-38 and 1/2.
Portland prices for soft white wheat were steady to down 7 cents at mostly 6-73 and 1/4. White club wheat prices were down 2 to 7 cents at mostly 8-98 and 1/4. Hard Red Winter wheat with 11.5 percent protein prices were down 13 cents at mostly 7-16 and 1/4. DNS wheat with 14 percent protein prices were down 14 and 3/4 cents at mostly 8-60.
October live cattle were down $1.10 on Friday at 156-27 and half. October Feeder cattle were up 32 and half cents at 225-92 and half. October class III milk was up 57 cents at 23-35.
