Direct Action Everywhere 1

Yesterday we heard the soundtrack from a video that was surreptitiously shot by an animal activist group named Direct Action Everywhere. They literally broke into what they called a Costco certified humane cage free egg farm building in the middle of the night and showed video of laying hens that was shocking. I called President of the Animal Agriculture Alliance, Kay Johnson Smith: "I did see the video and it was certainly dramatic, don't you think? The video that you see, absolutely, no one would condone any sort of mistreatment along with horrible conditions and so forth. We don't know if the video is legitimate, how much it was edited, knowing that these individuals went in with a particular agenda and by their founder’s own words, their goal is to destroy animal agriculture. Do we know if those individuals played any part in showing conditions in a certain way and did they contribute to the problems that were shown. There are more questions than answers to this and what is critical in there taking it upon themselves, for one, they have no authority and if they suspect animal cruelty, there are laws in place and there are legitimate actions that should be taken by anybody who suspects animal cruelty of any kind in any environment and that is first, to call law enforcement.”
